Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, you don't have to give up caffeine, but you may want to cut down. NSW Food Authority recommends that pregnant women have no more than 200mg of caffeine a day.* This is equivalent to four cups of medium-strength tea or 3 cups of instant coffee or four cups of hot chocolate or 4 cans of cola per day.

So you don’t have to give up on enjoying the tea you love, as long as you stay within the above guidelines. If you do decide you want to cut caffeine out completely, we have a couple of different tea products that can help there too:

  • Tetley Decaf gives you the black tea flavour you love, and lots of polyphenols/flavonoids but without the caffeine;
  • Our Tetley Fruit & Herbal range, each suited to a different need, such as ‘Calm’, ‘Refresh’, ‘Pick me up’, ‘Warmth’, or ‘Soothe’, are made up of natural fruits, herbs, flowers and natural flavourings. So nary a caffeine hit in sight!
