With breast cancer remaining the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women (and rising in men), it’s time we got it off our chests, Australia.

Tetley has been integral to millions of conversations between Australians for 180 years. Whether happy or sad, a bit of gossip or earnest conversation Tetley has been at the heart of all, so naturally links to something as important as this that needs to be talked about.

It’s not our intention to offend, we selected the word uncomfortable to reflect how difficult it can be to either take that first step to talk to someone about a concern they might have with their breasts, or to discuss a diagnosis with friends and loved ones.

The purpose of the mug is to raise awareness and spark discussion about breast cancer it is not a diagnostic device.

he purpose was to stimulate conversation and awareness, and this is a good way to do this, many an important discussion is supported by a cup of Tetley.

The important point here is having something that raises awareness and possibly action by individuals. The earlier the diagnosis and treatment the greater the chance of survival and this is what this initiative is hoping to support.

You are right this would have been useful to include.

BCNA is a consumer organization there for the thousands of Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year, they are about making this difficult journey that little bit better and we are proud to be able to support this.

Women represent the largest group being diagnosed each year, so it makes sense to emphasise this, but the message is important to all genders.

The mugs are not for sale, they are just a gesture as a part of this campaign

Not at all, partners have helped us to deliver this campaign, and it is right that we ensure their costs are covered

We will be donating 5 cents from every pack of Tetley Tea Cup Bag 100s pack sold.

Far from wanting to distress anyone, our intent is to raise awareness among men and women of how to monitor changes in your breast and the importance of bringing it to the attention of a medial professional as early as possible.

The expertise and sensitivity Alex has applied to this assignment is commendable. Like many ceramicists Alex has a studio which represents the diversity of her skills and talents.

The purpose of the mug is to have something physical to raise awareness of a possible symptom to look out for, it is the surface of the mug that has an imperfection that can be felt, and it is hoped that this will help drive discussion and awareness of breast cancer, possible signs and how to monitor your breasts and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
